CINCINNATI – Metro will host a career fair for new bus operators this Saturday, June 19, at its Queensgate Division (1401 Bank Street) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No RSVP is required, but interested candidates are encouraged to submit an application at go-metro.com/careers prior to attending.

Metro is seeking to hire at least 24 new transit operators to support recent service improvements that took effect as part of Reinventing Metro. New operators hired by June 30 will be eligible to receive a $1,000 hiring bonus upon the successful completion of their trial trip and 95-day probationary period.

Metro bus operators enjoy paid training, competitive pay and benefits. Applicants do not need a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to apply. Qualified applicants will receive paid training by Metro to acquire their CDL, along with reimbursement for CDL fees.

Metro bus operator pay begins at $16 per hour for trainees, with the potential to earn top operator pay of more than $27 within five years. Metro also provides comprehensive health and dental benefits, retirement benefits and free transportation passes for a spouse and dependents.
