CINCINNATI – In observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, all Metro fixed routes will operate on their Sunday schedules on Thursday, Nov. 24.
Metro and Access’ administrative offices as well as the Downtown sales office will also close on Thanksgiving Day and reopen on Friday, Nov. 25.
To kick off the holiday season, Metro and Access paratransit will offer fare-free rides all day on Black Friday, Nov. 25, to encourage shopping local and reduce the stress of driving and parking typically associated with the day after Thanksgiving.
Recognizing that not all holidays mean a day off work in numerous industries that rely on public transit, Metro earlier this year reinvented its approach to holiday service. Beginning on Memorial Day, multiple holidays were revamped to operate on a more robust Saturday/holiday schedule, rather than Sunday/holiday service.
Independence Day and Labor Day both operated on Saturday/holiday schedules this year, and similar adjustments can be expected in future years.
