Metro To Observe Christmas And New Year’S Holidays With Revamped Holiday Service
December 19, 2022
Recognizing that not all holidays mean a day off work in numerous industries that rely on public transit, Metro earlier this year reinvented its approach to holiday service.
CINCINNATI – With the end-of-year holidays upon us, between now and the end of the year, Metro will operate the following holiday schedules:
– Christmas Eve (12/24): Saturday schedule
– Christmas Day (12/25): Sunday schedule
– Christmas Day Observed (12/26): Sunday schedule
– New Year’s Eve (12/31): Saturday schedule
– New Year’s Day (1/1): Sunday schedule
– New Year’s Day Observed (1/2): Sunday schedule
Metro administrative offices and the Downtown Sales Office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, respectively.
Recognizing that not all holidays mean a day off work in numerous industries that rely on public transit, Metro earlier this year reinvented its approach to holiday service. Beginning on Memorial Day, multiple holidays were revamped to operate on a more robust Saturday/holiday schedule, rather than Sunday/holiday service.
Independence Day and Labor Day both operated on Saturday schedules this year, as opposed to Sunday service in years past, and similar adjustments can be expected in future years.
