Metro To Hold Public Meetings On How To Implement Major Service Changes Fairly And Equitably
July 11, 2022
Changes to bus service – where routes run, how frequently and how long into the evening – are a common and routine component of Metro’s operations. To ensure that we roll out major service changes in a fair and equitable way, Metro is committed to maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures that comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations.
CINCINNATI – Changes to bus service – where routes run, how frequently and how long into the evening – are a common and routine component of Metro’s operations. To ensure that we roll out major service changes in a fair and equitable way, Metro is committed to maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures that comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations.
This week, Metro will hold two virtual public meetings to share information and gather input on how we can best continue to ensure these major service changes are planned and communicated to the public with fairness and equity at the forefront:
• Tuesday, July 12, from 5 – 7 p.m.
• Wednesday, July 13, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions about Metro’s commitment to Title VI and provide input on the policies and standards Metro uses to plan and evaluate fixed-route bus service. Those include bus capacity to limit overcrowding, service frequency, on-time performance, and the availability of fixed-route bus service throughout the metro area. Additional policies to be developed include distribution guidelines for shelters, seating, informational resources and other amenities throughout our system.
Full details, as well as how to register for one of the upcoming meetings, can be found here: go-metro.com/title-vi
