CINCINNATI – Metro is pleased to announce we are celebrating this year’s holiday season with two fare-free weekends in support of local small businesses and to promote access to the COVID-19 vaccine, as family holiday gatherings draw near.

Metro and Access service will be free on all routes Friday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 28 and then again from Friday, Dec. 17 through Sunday, Dec. 19.

“As we enter the holiday season, it is crucial we take every precaution possible against the spread of COVID-19,” said Metro CEO and General Manager Darryl Haley. “We are pleased to continue offering these fare-free weekends to assist the community in accessing their vaccination appointments. The chance to take advantage of our enhanced service and support local businesses with your holiday shopping is an added bonus.”

In May, Metro launched the Reinventing Metro plan, which enhances service on our busiest routes with longer hours, more frequent trips and expanded reach throughout Hamilton County.

These fare-free days are made possible through relief funds distributed by the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Rides for Community Immunity program.

All Metro routes will operate on holiday schedules on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
