Metro Continuing Engagement With Small, Diverse & Disadvantaged Businesses With Upcoming Vendor Fair

November 4, 2022

Those who attend can enter to win a free, three-month bus wrap advertising their business, valued at approximately $14,000!

CINCINNATI – As part of its continuing efforts to increase partnerships with small, diverse and/or disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs), Metro next week will host a free expo and vendor fair featuring presentations, resources and opportunities for local vendors to network and learn about current and upcoming opportunities with Metro. The expo will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Union Terminal Cincinnati Museum Center.

Over the last three years, Metro has increased its DBE contracts by more than 3,300%, from approximately $72,000 in 2019 to $2.5 million and growing in 2022.

“Our mission at Metro is to connect with and lift up every part of our community, and that applies to those we choose to do business with, as well,” said Metro Senior Vice President of External Affairs Brandy Jones. “The work our team has done to increase these partnerships in recent years has opened new opportunities not just for these small and diverse vendors, but also for Metro.”

In addition to networking and educational opportunities, guests can enter a drawing to win a free, three-month bus wrap to advertise their business (valued at approximately $14,000).

Metro is committed to partnering with disadvantaged business enterprises, both as a way to connect with all corners of our business community as well as a way to lift up minority-, women-, disability-owned or otherwise disadvantaged businesses throughout our region. Per federal regulations, it is Metro’s policy to utilize ready, willing and able disadvantaged and small businesses and to use the best efforts possible to level the playing field.

The business expo is open and free to all small and diverse vendors, but registration beforehand is requested. Those interested in attending can register at www.go-metro.com/about-metro/doingbusiness.
