Metro, Black Owned Outerwear Celebrate Diversity Of Local Influencers ‘Moving Region Forward’

Metro celebrates partnerships with BlaCk OWned Outerwear and BlaCk Coffee Lounge during the unveiling of Metro’s 50th anniversary commemorative T-shirt, which celebrates both Metro’s 50-year legacy of serving the community and the diversity of local small and disadvantaged businesses (XBEs) and individuals who have moved the region forward.

CINCINNATI – Today, Metro celebrated partnerships with BlaCk OWned Outerwear and BlaCk Coffee Lounge during the unveiling of Metro’s 50th anniversary commemorative T-shirt. The shirt, designed by BlaCk OWned OuterWear, celebrates both Metro’s 50-year legacy of serving the community and the diversity of local small and disadvantaged businesses (XBEs) and individuals who have moved the region forward.

Metro CEO and General Manager Darryl Haley spoke about the organization’s commitment to supporting local XBE vendors like BlaCk OWned Outerwear. Other speakers included Rico Grant, Palooza Noire; Tammie Scott, Nostalgia Wine Bar; and Means Cameron, BlaCk OWned Outwear and BlaCk Coffee, all of whom are among the 12 local influencers featured on the T-shirt design.

A limited quantity of T-shirts is available for purchase at BlaCk OWned Outerwear, 822 Elm St., or online at www.blackowned19xx.com. Shirts will also be for sale on Fountain Square during Metro’s community-wide 50th Birthday Bash on Aug. 15, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Two dollars from each T-shirt purchase will benefit Metro’s nonprofit organization, Everybody Rides Metro, which partners with social service agencies throughout Hamilton County to provide subsidized transportation for people seeking employment, education, health care and other quality-of-life opportunities.

To further support Metro’s newest XBE partnership while celebrating its 50th anniversary, all Metro employees will receive 50% off their drinks at BlaCk Coffee on Aug.15, courtesy of Metro.
