CINCINNATI – There’s no holiday in Greater Cincinnati quite like Reds Opening Day, and to celebrate the official kickoff of baseball season, Metro is thrilled to partner with the Reds to offer fare-free service to their home opener as well as to weekend home games throughout April and May (with valid gameday ticket; see dates below).
“Going Metro down to Great American Ball Park has never been more convenient,” said Metro Sr. VP of External Affairs Brandy Jones. “With more 24-hour and weekend service than ever before, Metro can connect you to all the great entertainment our region has to offer. Let us get you to the game so you can focus on cheering the Reds to a winning season like only Reds fans know how.”
All Metro fixed-route and Access paratransit service will operate fare-free on Thursday, March 30. Following Opening Day, customers can present their bus operator valid proof of ballpark admission to receive free fare for that trip on the following weekend home gamedays:
– Sat. 4/1
– Sun. 4/2
– Sat. 4/15
– Sun. 4/16
– Sat. 5/6
– Sun. 5/7
– Sat. 5/20
– Sun. 5/21
Now operating 24 hours on seven routes as well as extended hours and more frequent weekend pick-ups on numerous others, the Reinventing Metro plan has provided connections to more jobs, more educational opportunities and more shopping and entertainment in more corners of Hamilton County than any time in Metro’s 50-year history.
Customers can download the free Transit app to plan their trip to the ballpark and track their bus in real-time.
