CINCINNATI — The National Procurement Institute has recognized Cincinnati Metro’s Procurement team for their exceptional achievements, awarding them the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award. This honor is given to organizations that showcase outstanding proficiency in innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership. Metro’s Procurement team continues to excel in all these areas, setting a high standard for excellence in the transit industry.

With this recognition, Cincinnati Metro is Ohio’s only transit system ever to receive this award. Additionally, this achievement places Metro in an elite group, as it is only the third public agency in Ohio to receive this award and just the 11th transit system across the United States to attain this level of recognition.

“We are incredibly proud of our Procurement team for their exceptional work and dedication,” said Darryl Haley, CEO and General Manager of Metro. “Their commitment to excellence and our community has not only elevated our organization but has also set a high standard for the entire transit industry.”

Metro is proud to actively engage with vendors as part of its proactive procurement efforts, ensuring businesses are aware of the various contracts and business opportunities with the organization. Notably, Metro has strategically partnered with the Small Business Administration focused on bolstering regional small businesses. These efforts have resulted in doubling the amount of spend with XBE businesses, a trend that Metro is focused on continuing in 2024 and beyond.
