Bike And Ride For Free On Bike To Work Day
May 17, 2021
Bicycle commuters ride free on Metro, TANK and BCRTA on Friday, May 21
CINCINNATI – Those looking to give commuting by bike a try will have the perfect opportunity on Friday, May 21, when transit systems around the Cincinnati region partner to offer free fare for those with a bike.
In celebration of National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 21, bus riders who load a bike onto the bus bike racks will ride for FREE on Metro, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) and Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA).
The day will showcase just how easy it is to bike and ride every day. All Metro, TANK and BCRTA buses are equipped with front-loading secure bike racks. Each rack accommodates two bikes. Bikes are not permitted on board buses unless they are foldable and can fit under a seat.
Metro and TANK have been recognized by Queen City Bike’s “Bike Friendly Destinations” awards since 2011 for providing advocacy and infrastructure improvements to support bicycling for employees and riders.
More information on how to bike and ride, as well as a video explaining how to use the bus bike racks, can be found on Metro’s website here and on TANK’s website here.
