CINCINNATI –  Metro was recently recognized for its achievement in environmental excellence as part of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s (OEPA) Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) program.

Metro was awarded at the Achievement Level for environmentally beneficial activities, such as sustainability education and awareness programs for employees, long-term sustainability planning and a successful agency-wide recycling program.

“Metro is committed to ‘going green’ and actively participates in a dynamic sustainability program to reduce our environmental footprint in the community we serve, as well as promoting a green workplace for all,” said Metro CEO & General Manager Dwight A. Ferrell. “We’re honored to be recognized for our efforts by the EPA.”

Ohio EPA’s E3 program has a four-level approach to recognizing an organization’s exceptional achievements in environmental stewardship. Any business, industry, trade association, professional organization or local government of Ohio can be recognized.
